My question is, what causes hairloss? and what can be done to prevent it?

Personally, my hair falls a lot.. at a fast rate too. Like, everytime I have a bath and wash my hair.. when it comes to combing them, I'll have handfuls of hair falling out constantly. Anyone else have that problem? What would you suggest?

Hair loss can be caused by a number of reasons: stress, genetics, hormones, and lack of sleep.

To prevent hair loss, cut down the junk, and start eating HEALTHY. Also get some sleep, (7-8 hours should be good).

Talk to your stylist because they are products that are made to prevent hair loss. A friend of mine also loses alot of hair. She uses a product called NIOXIN. Her stylist recommended it to her. It worked for her. Maybe it can work for you too.

Also, talk to your doctor. You may have low intake of iron or vitamins.

Good luck...! :)

Devdasi & Reema: Thanks girls :) Yeah, the only things coming to mind is
stress and lack of iron. I wouldn/t really say I'm stressed about anything big
but I am anemic and have low iron so yeah.. but even then, iron deficiency
tablets don't seem to make a difference.

Aleena: Same here sis :( The tablets just don't seem to help with hairloss..

But yeah, I totally agree with drinking plenty of water, getting proper sleep
and eating enough fruits/veg - Need to start doing these properly!

Oh and one more thing, do you girls know of any good shampoo/conditioner
that would help prevent hairloss? B/c at times I wonder whether changing
my regular shampoo would make any sort of difference.. :batman:

Do you purchase your shampoo/conditioner at your local drug store? The reason why I'm asking is b/c those products contain alot of strong chemicals. Since you're losing hair, it's better to purchase professional salon products. They cost more, but are really worth it. They contain natural ingredients with less chemicals.

From what I've heard, Nioxin is a really good product. Get some advice from the stylists at your nearest salon. They'll recommend something that'll suit your hair.

All the best!

Yeah I do sis.. hmm I really had no idea, thanks for the advice!
Well, I try to use hair products with natural ingredients but not
from a professional salon or anything - I think I should though. :batman:

I googled Nixon, seems kinda popular for hairloss. I'll have a look
and see if I can get it tomorrow. Thanks a lot sis. :)

If...

1. A normal iron level
2. enough sleep
3. waiting for hair to dry before you comb through it
4. avoiding very hot showers
5. overdrying hair

doesn't work, then get NIOXIN, I would highly recommend it for anyone with thinning hair, this stuff really works, and is a bit pricey but my friend was using it for her hair, and she literally had to stop using it because her hair got too thick! yes no lies, so definately try this, you will defi see results, this is the stuff they use in salons.

You might have to order it online if they don't carry it in the UK, im not sure if they do or don't, but defi give it a shot!
