Happy Birthday, John!
A sweltering hot half-a-decade in Bollywood later, John Abraham continues to provoke mercury with his snug sexiness and uber-cool machiosm. And while we laud the stubble-sporting hunk for making a conscious effort to expand his range as a performer, we are relieved he hasn't forgone his steamy roots.
But if you thought you've seen it all in Karan Johar's Dostana, brace yourself for John's nude turn in the forthcoming Yash Raj drama, New York.
On that note, here's a look at the sexiest on-screen roles of Asia's Sexiest man.

Jism, 2003
From the guy who sweetly announces, 'Honey, I'm home' in a commercial to a smitten (and rather handsome, we may add) lawyer in love with someone else's wife, John made an unconventional debut with Jism.
And what a lucky move it turned out to be. Not only was the film a hit and most-talked about for its sizzling make-out sequences but also introduced him to co-star turned girlfriend, Bipasha Basu

Paap, 2003
Pooja Bhatt's directorial debut did nothing to keep us hooked.
JA, on his part, made up for an emotionless performance, by turning the heat on with his brooding oomph, sensual persuasion and most importantly, no shirt.
Considering Paap was mostly shot in Spiti Valley, it must have been tough. Then again, Juhi Chawla tripped on Swiss snow and Madhuri Dixit swayed on Alaskan glaciers, in nothing more than seven-yard of frail chiffon.

Dhoom, 2004
We don't know how many more Dhoom films are in store but John remains the original villain of Bollywood's first of its kind franchise film-making.
Besides his obvious strengths -- a straightened mane and biker-in-black leather look -- John displayed rare anti-hero charisma as the crooked but principled robber, Kabir changing people's perception about him. Overnight, he was turned from a good-looking non-actor to hmm-the-boy-has-immense-potential

Kaal, 2004
Honestly, do all conservationists working for National Geographic look this H-O-T? Soham's wild 'n' spooky adventure would like us to believe that and more.
And that explains why John looks straight out of a catalogue for safari fashion in his designer shades, cool khakis and sleeveless leather vests. All the same, yummy.

Garam Masala, 2005
Being a dude is a no mean task for the naturally dishy John. Added to that his goofy
charm mixed with sweeping poise comes in most handy as he sets out to woo a girl.
Though, of course, its co-star Akshay Kumar who is occupied playing a game of hide-and-seek with a bunch of women, John plays a confident second fiddle in the madness that ensues. Garam? You bet!

Zinda, 2006
Playing an antagonist villain has its rewards. Who knows it better than John Abraham? Both Dhoom and Zinda fetched him a Filmfare nomination for Best Villain.
While originality certainly isn't one of Zinda's virtues, this shameless rip-off of South Korean filmmaker Park Chanwook's Oldboy showcases the actor's vilest side ever. Dressed to perfection, his elegance conceals a dark, ruthless exterior, which translates to mouthing the F-word on the big screen.

No Smoking, 2007
John Abraham in a bath tub might not have resulted in paisa vasool. But it's still a sight.
Is that because the smug-looking actor is the only comprehensible and stylish thing about
this complicated film that you eventually remember? Talk about sensible cinema!
Even if majority didn't quite fathom Anurag Kashyap's riddling-ride, it remains talked-about.

Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, 2007
When it comes to dashing John, sportiness is the equivalent of godliness.
His Reebok-endorsing persona sparkles as he wades through the not-so-spirited Dhan
Dhana Dhan Goal in a bright red jersey and oodles of attitude. Score!

Dostana, 2008
Sexy is stepping out of Miami waters in skimpy yellow briefs. Well, that's John's mantra
for you. Not only it steal the thunder from Priyanka Chopra's gold swimsuit but also made
us pay no heed to Abhishek Bachchan's pink 'n' yellow shirts.
Bottomline: The almost bare look caught everyone's attention and is easily one of the
most popular images of 2008 in Bollywood.
