B.O. update: '3 Idiots' has earth-shattering start- By Taran Adarsh

3 IDIOTS has embarked on one of the biggest starts ever. The film collected an enormous approx. Rs. 2.5 crores in paid previews on Thursday, which is the highest ever for a Hindi film. On Friday morning, the film started with a bang, opening to an extra-ordinary response from East to West, from North to South. Early indications are that the film will have a solid first day, at par, or perhaps more than GHAJINI. The industry feels that the Day 1 figures would be more than Rs. 10 crores nett. Fingers crossed.
Cant wait to watch this its getting awesome reviews :-k

it's not that extraordinary
i mean m not saying that it's boring
but it's ok...u can say a good movie of 2009 but otherwise not that extraordinary

Just saw it last night, it is definitely the best film of 2009. It really hit the spot; i havent seen a really good bollywood flick in ages... I think it's the biggest hit india has seen since slumdog millionaire.
Aamir has proved that he is the best actor currently in bollywood. With each movie, he surpasses an entirely new level of excellence. The film was a great mix of emotions, laughter, as well as suspense. I nearly cried from laughing so hard. The chemistry between Aamir, R. Madhavan, and Sharman was simply perfect. It seemed as if they had been hanging out together for ages. Kareena portrayed the role of Pia beautifully... i think she has the potential to be the female counterpart of Aamir khan. Boman's role was appreciable, as usual. he played a solid tough 'anda.'
The songs do grow on you after watching the movie. especially "All izz well," "Give me sunshine," and "Jaane Nahin Denge."
Definitely take the time out to see this film... you wont regret it! enjoy!

ofcourse it's a best movie of 2009...there's no doubt about it
but if u say that it is kind of something different which amir always do then m sorry to say in my point of view..it's NOT
when u see the movie...the story reminds u Munna bhai MBBS...and boman role is kind of same...so in my point of view the movie is fine but not that extraordinary.

yea, i just watched Munna Bhai last night and it does have a lot of similarities, no doubt. For example, the ragging scene, Boman's character is almost a ditto copy, and the story was a bit similar. I think they should have made it a little different. But if you just look at 3 idiots by itself, it is a superb movie. Of course, it's not of slumdog millionaire status... but it is still much much better than all the other bukwaas bollywood movies that were released this year. Aamir still did exceptionally well and his role was different from his previous ones. I guess the closest role to his in 3 idiots would be the role of 'Aakash' in Dil Chahta Hai... but both are still very different.
I havent see the movie yet so cant really comment on whether Raju Hirani did
something different but since Aamir was named I'd have to say he deff did do
something different yet again, comparing this to his previous work like in Ghajini
or TZP. Love how he keeps reinvinting himself over and over and over and over
and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again :p

lagaan...dil chahta hai...rang de basanti...tare zameen per...that's what i meant

yea... dil chahta hai is my all time favorite bollywood movie... nothing has come close for me. Farhan Akhtar and Hirani are two very different filmmakers and have added their unique touches to each film. But i do think that aamir has grown as an actor immensely since dil chahta hai. he's so diverse... alot of current bollywood actors could learn something from him. It's one thing to become an established and liked bollywood actor like shahrukh or salman... but its much more respectable if an actor, like aamir, goes above and beyond to try new things and further experiment with their acting abilities. Hrithik is one of the few, i belive, who is following aamir's path and will prove to be another versatile and truly talented actor. Don't get me wrong, i love shahrukh khan, he's the king... but i believe that he hasn't reached his true potential as an actor. I hope with My Name is Khan, he will be able to break all boundaries. Can't wait to see it! He's finally stepping out of his comfort zone. Props to two of the 3 khans. It's time for salman to step up his game a bit.

the movie would be super hit coz there was no good movie in 2009

srk and amir khan are 2 different actors...and i agree with u that all 3 khans are great...i dont like hrithik roshan..but beside my likness if i'll see hiss acting...i can't see anything unique and the think which makes me think that he's the next big thing...infact i would say that ranbir kapoor and imran khan can be next superstars.
that's what normally people think that m biased to srk

i like srk alot yaar...but i like all 3 khans...so normally people thinks that m against amir khan or salma khan but it's not that thing

so there's no comparison at the moment :P
no but ur an srk fan talkin about aamir, and most srk fans i know
arent very positive when it comes to AK thats why I find it pointless
to discuss an aamir movie with them and cant take them seriously.
but i wudnt wanna generalize, u cud be an exception since u say
you like all 3 khans, and dont worry u dont need to defend urself =)
